Plank Flooring

Rigid core is a luxury vinyl plank with a dense, stable core layer. It hides small subfloor imperfections better and stays flatter in rooms with temperature swings. Standard luxury vinyl is thinner and more flexible.

Luxury vinyl, rigid core and porcelain planks can. Engineered hardwood is not the right choice for a room with standing water, however good the finish.

Usually along the longest wall or in line with the main light source, which makes a room read longer. In a narrow hallway, running with the length avoids cutting every board.

Rigid core often comes with the pad attached. Standard vinyl and engineered hardwood usually need an underlay for sound and comfort, unless the product page says otherwise.
