Frequently Asked Questions

What finish is Metropolitan available in?

Silver Oak. The series has historically been offered with several veneers, including macassar ebony, American walnut and white oak.

What sizes does it come in?

Thirty and 48 inch singles and a 72 inch double, plus a matching mirror.

What is the cabinet made of?

Hand crafted North American birch hardwood with veneer faces.

Is Metropolitan a good choice for a small bathroom?

The 30 inch cabinet works well in one, and the plain front keeps a small room from feeling busy. In a windowless small bathroom, choose the lighter veneer.

Metropolitan Collection

Metropolitan is the plainest collection in the range and the one that depends most on the veneer. There is no detailing to speak of: clean lines, generous storage, and a face that is entirely about the wood. Over the years the series has been built with veneers including macassar ebony, American walnut and white oak.

The current finish here is Silver Oak, in 30 and 48 inch singles and a 72 inch double, with a matching mirror.

Minimal cabinets and busy rooms

A cabinet with no detail is the right choice when something else in the room is doing the work: a patterned floor, a marble slab wall, a strong light fitting. In a plain room a minimal vanity can read as flat, and a textured collection like Myrrin or Allamari will give the space something to look at.

For similar restraint with a wall hung option, see Marcello, and for mid century proportions with a louvered door, Portland.
