Travertine in the real material has open pores that have to be filled and refilled; nothing here needs filling. Mesh backing holds the layout in the J cut, which is what makes a mosaic practical on a shower floor or a backsplash.

The body is 9 mm and the edges are rectified, so it lays with a tight grout joint. The surface is matte. One box covers 9.69 sq ft, 10 pieces.

It is made in the United States, at Landmark's Mount Pleasant plant in Tennessee.
