Marble · Slab
Oro Vecchio is a brown marble slab offered in random sizes. It arrives with a polished finish that deepens the stone's color and highlights its natural veining. We stock the slab in full pieces rather than tiles. Pricing for these marble slabs is by quote. The slab is available in Fairfax, VA.
Design
The brown field carries darker striations that run through the surface. A polished finish reads as a mirror shine in bright light. Each slab is one piece of stone with its own size and its own markings. You get four slabs from one batch in Fairfax. Slabs from that batch match most closely. The veining and the size of each slab differ from the next one.
One batch
Four slabs cut from one block are in Fairfax. Slabs from the same batch look the closest to each other.
Random sizes
The slab comes in random dimensions. The batch list shows the sizes in stock.
Where to use it
Walls and counters
The slab suits commercial interior walls, residential interior walls and residential countertops. A licensed fabricator templates and installs it. We do not deliver slabs to a job site. Delivery is by A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse holding the slab. Crated LTL freight covers the rest. The polished finish shows wear sooner, so it works well in low-traffic areas. You should dry-lay the pieces before setting them to spread the color variation evenly across the installation.
Fabricator only
We send slabs to a licensed fabricator. The fabricator templates, cuts and installs them.
Delivery zones
A-frame truck delivers within 50 miles of the warehouse. Crated LTL freight covers longer distances.

Care
Marble reacts with acids like lemon and vinegar, so you must seal it after installation and reseal every one to two years. Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and avoid bleach, ammonia and abrasive pads. Dry-lay the pieces before setting to spread the color variation evenly. Back butter the stone to prevent hollow spots that lead to cracks.
