What a Calacatta Viola sink looks like
The ground is creamy white to bright white. The veining is deep plum, wine, burgundy or violet on some pieces and gray or charcoal on others, sometimes with a thread of purple running through the gray. Most pieces are white with gray veining, and a smaller group shows purple in the vein as well.
That spread comes from the stone itself. Color in a marble like this forms streaks and patches inside the block, so two basins from the same block or the same design can show it strongly or only faintly. Polished or honed Calacatta Viola marble sinks
Most of this collection is polished. Honed shows up on a short list: a 14x18 wall mount basin, a tapered 16 inch round vessel, a 20x24 vessel carved in a leaf design, and 12x18 rectangles in both vessel and wall mount form.
The finish changes how strong the vein looks. A polish gives the stone a gloss and deepens contrast, so plum and charcoal lines look darker and sharper against the white. A honed surface is matte, with a softer, quieter vein and no reflection.

Calacatta Viola vessel bowls
A vessel stands on top of a vanity counter. In Calacatta Viola the bowls come as 16 inch rounds with a 6 inch height, a lower 15.5 inch round at 4.5 inches tall, a 14x18 oval, a 12x18 rectangle, a 16x16 square with a ribbed exterior and a 20x24 basin carved as a leaf. Calacatta Viola wall mount, corner and double basins
Most of the collection is wall mounted, with the basin fixed to the wall and no counter under it. Single basins start at 12x18 and 12x20 for a powder room and run through 14x18, 16x21, 16x24, 16x30, 16x32, 18x24, 18x28, 18x32 and 21x34 up to 20x40, and two long fluted vanity sinks at 20x55 and 20x56. Several have a raised backsplash along the back edge, and a few use a hidden drain.
The double sinks come at 19x53, 22x67 and 20x80, with two basins side by side. Storage is carved into the stone on a few wall mount pieces: an 18x37 basin with a built-in towel bar, an 18x37 vanity with a towel holder and a front shelf for soap or a small tray, and an 18x40 sink with an open towel shelf below a basin with a hidden drain.
Corner sinks fit where two walls meet. They come as a 12x12, a fluted 16x16, a hand carved 16x24 and a 20x20 with a ribbed face. The same designs in travertine and other marbles are in wall mount sinks.
Freestanding Calacatta Viola pedestals
The pedestal designs stand on the floor with no vanity and no wall bracket: an 18x18 round pedestal at 33 inches tall and a 20x30 rectangular piece at 34 inches that combines the marble with wood. Marble pedestal sinks sets them beside columns in other marbles.
Fluted, ribbed and wavy designs
Some basins have carved fronts in place of plain ones. The fluted designs are an 18x28 U-shaped basin, a 19.5x31.5 vanity, the 20x55 and 20x56 vanity sinks, a rectangular 16x24 wall mount, a half-round 16x24 wall mount and the 16x16 corner sink; the 16x24 corner sink is a separate hand carved model. Ribbing appears on the 16x16 square vessel, the 18x32 vanity and the 20x20 corner sink, and a 16x21 basin has a wavy edge. On a veined stone the carving breaks the lines of color into bands of light and shade, so a fluted Calacatta Viola shows mostly texture, while a flat front shows the vein as one continuous drawing.
Faucets and fittings for this stone
The listings for this stone name a wide range of fittings. Brass, nickel and matte black come up most often, and chrome, gold and bronze appear on some pieces. Brass is the metal named most, in some listings as a wall faucet hung over the basin.
Faucet holes vary by model. The 12x20, 14x18 and 18x24 wall mount basins come undrilled, so the faucet can go on the wall or the counter. The 16x30 basin with a backsplash and a fluted 16x24 have three drilled holes for a widespread or single hole faucet, the 20x40 has its three holes in the 10 inch backsplash, and a 16x32 rectangle puts its faucet holes at the side of the basin. On a wall mount basin the trap is visible below the sink, so its finish belongs to the same choice as the faucet.
