Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between bullnose tile and regular tile?

A field tile has straight edges on all four sides, while a bullnose tile has one edge rounded and finished in the same color and surface as its face. It is the trim that finishes a run of field tile.

What sizes does bullnose tile come in?

Sizes run from small 2x6, 3x6 and 6x6 pieces to long 3x12, 4x12, 2x24, 3x18, 3x24 and 4x24 strips. Many porcelain lines use a 3x24 bullnose.

Is there ceramic bullnose tile?

Yes. Ceramic bullnose includes Urbano in glossy 4x12, Renzo in glossy 3x12, Gridscale and Essentials in matte 3x18, Napa in matte 3x24, Roca in matte 3x12, Ice Bright in glazed 2x6 and 3x6, and Cotton Matte and Palace Blanc in 6x6.

Which bullnose pieces are listed for shower walls?

The shower wall list includes Roca Flow White, Roca Silver Drift and Roca Dark Gray, Ice Bright, Piedra Gris, Quest, Bianco Crystal, Bianco Statuario and Calacatta Bright, in matte, polished, gloss and glazed finishes.

Is there black or white bullnose tile?

Yes. White bullnose includes Domino White, Urbano Pure, Cotton Matte, Palace Blanc and the white marble looks, and black bullnose includes Regallo Marquina Noir, Urbano Ink and Architecta Graphite.

What is a bullnose tile?

Its face matches a field tile, but one long edge is rounded over and finished in the same color and surface. The finished edge is what makes it trim: it gives a tiled wall or opening a clean, rounded border. Most bullnose pieces here are narrow strips, such as 2x24, 3x24, 3x18 and 4x24, named after their tile line, and a few are full size tiles with a rounded edge, such as the 6x6 Cotton Matte and Palace Blanc. Listings follow each line: many are tagged for interior floors and interior walls, and some for backsplashes and shower walls.

Which Landmark porcelain lines have bullnose?

Landmark Ceramics makes a 3x24 bullnose for its porcelain tile lines, mostly in a matte finish. The marble and quartz looks are Charme and Explore, the limestone and stone looks are Mood, Infinity, Journey and Milestone, and the travertine looks are Trail, Pisa, Barcelona and Washington. Slate looks come from Essence and Trek and a bluestone look from Bluestone, and the concrete looks are Made.in, Attitude, Chicago and Miami, with Vision in a resin look. Siena, Seattle, Berlin and Charleston are plain porcelain. Each bullnose takes the color name of its line, such as Mood Frost.

Which MSI porcelain lines have bullnose?

MSI Surfaces makes bullnose for many of its porcelain lines, often in both matte and polished. Kaya, Regallo, Praia, Durban, Brighton and Miraggio come in matte and polished 3x24, Veneto in matte 3x24 with Veneto Noce also polished in 3x18, Bernini in matte and polished 3x18, and Eden in matte and polished 4x24.
