Which travertine colors come as wall mount sinks?
Mostly beige, with a smaller group in red and in silver gray. Beige covers several quarry names. Troia Light, the Ephesus light beige outdoor sink and the pale Troia Light half-round are the light end, with cream and sand tones, and Oasis Beige, Tuscany and the plain beige basins are a warm mid beige. Red travertine, with terracotta and ochre running through it, comes as the red 16x30 honed, the red 16x24 ribbed and the red 48 inch fluted double. Silver travertine, listed as gray, is the cool option: the gray 16x20 split face and the silver gray 20x48 with backsplash. The full stone range, vessels and pedestals included, is in travertine sinks.
Smooth inside, worked outside
Honed is the most common finish here, followed by honed and filled, and a couple of pieces are polished. The Ephesus outdoor sink has an antiqued face that looks worn, like an old basin. Many of these sinks pair two surfaces: a smooth bowl and an outer face that has been split, chiseled or carved. Polished stone appears on the 15.7 inch light beige corner sink and on the beige 20x24 fluted, and both are polished inside and out.
Split face and chiseled edges
A split face front is stone broken along its natural grain and left raw, so the sink looks like a quarried block hung on the wall. The gray 16x20 has a hand split face around a honed bowl, and so does the beige 16x26, which adds a matching 6 inch travertine backsplash. The Troia Light 16x24 is close in spirit, with a hand chiseled front and a honed basin. With no cabinet below, the rough front is fully on view.
Fluted and ribbed fronts
Fluting cuts hollow vertical channels into the front. It appears on the beige 20x24, hand carved and polished inside and out, on the beige 16x32 with its 10 inch tall body, on the Oasis Beige 16x36, honed inside and out, and on the red 48 inch fluted double, which is fluted on the front and the edges. Ribbed fronts, a close relative, appear on the red 16x24 ribbed and the Tuscany 18x28 ribbed, on the red 16x24 ribbed and the Tuscany 18x28 ribbed. The travertine's pores and banding stay visible between the channels.
Stone wall mount sink sizes
From a half-round that projects 10 inches from the wall up to a 60 inch double. The Troia Light half-round is 16 inches long and 10 inches deep, with a straight back against the wall and a curved front. The 15.7 inch light beige corner sink is 4 inches tall and shaped for the angle where two walls meet. Single rectangles come in 16x20, 16x24, 16x26, 16x30, 16x32, 16x36, 18x28, 20x24 and 20x30, with stone bodies from 5 to 10 inches tall. The long pieces are the beige 20x54, which sets a basin beside a flat stone surface, the silver gray 20x48 with backsplash, and two doubles: the beige 23x60 vein cut double and the red 48 inch fluted double. Marble and travertine shapes side by side are gathered under wall mount sinks.
Rooms that suit a travertine wall mount sink
Warm color and open texture put travertine in rustic, Mediterranean and old world rooms: plaster walls, terracotta or travertine floor tile, brass fittings and dark wood. A powder room is the classic spot, since a stone basin on a bare wall becomes the main feature of a small room, and the half-round, the corner sink and the 16 inch deep basins suit tight walls. The silver gray pieces suit a cooler, more modern bath. Outside the bathroom, the Ephesus 18x28 outdoor sink, with its antiqued old world face, is listed for a garden wash station, an outdoor bar or an entryway.
Faucets and drains
Some basins are drilled for a faucet on the stone: the beige 20x54 has a single faucet hole, the beige 23x60 double has two, the red 16x30 has three for single-hole or widespread faucets, and the beige 16x26 has one. Others, such as the red 16x24 ribbed, are designed for a faucet mounted on the wall above. Faucet hole layouts vary by model and are shown on each listing. The beige 16x24 hidden drain and the 23x60 double both keep the drain fitting out of sight, so the floor of the bowl shows plain stone.
